Pitts Insurance was originally Jerry E. Pitts Insurance Agency, formed in 1969 by Eddie’s father, Jerry. After helping his parents with their Medicare, Jerry saw the need for someone local to help other seniors with filing claims on this new Medicare Insurance program and explain their options on supplemental coverage to fill the gaps Medicare left behind.

Eddie joined the Agency in 1983 after a few years in textile management and Kim became part of the team in 1991 with 17 years of experience in hospital and pharmacy administration. In 1996, Kim and Eddie changed the name of the agency to The Pitts Insurance Group, Inc. In 2005, with the implementation of Medicare Advantage (Part C) and stand-alone drug coverage (Part D), Pitts Insurance expanded their territory to include all of NC, SC, and VA, with the help of agent partnerships throughout the states, while still providing the same type and level of personal customer service that was started in 1969.

Pitts Insurance moved to its present location at 1624 Memorial Dr, Burlington NC 27215 in September of 2018. This 4,500 sqft former Medical Office Complex was completely renovated creating an open space for those seeking a professional, modern, relaxed, safe place to learn about all their insurance options whether it’s a face-to-face or a group meeting.
